The Club’s
Training Program
Through a series of workshops, Breakfast Club of Canada
aims to inspire and support passionate breakfast club
leaders that are working to nourish the bodies and minds of
students in communities across Canada. During these fun,
informative, and interactive workshops, participants will
have opportunities to learn and share best practices with
other schools, build new skills, and discover innovative
ways to enhance their breakfast club. At the end of each
workshop, participants will leave equipped with a strong
support network, as well as new knowledge and skills to
support their work.
Breakfast Club of Canada workshops are developed by
educators, registered dietitians, and subject matter experts.
All of our workshops are led by qualified Breakfast Club of
Canada trainers and can be adapted in order to meet the
needs of a diverse community of learners.

Building a Sustainable Foundation:
This introductory workshop discusses the fundamental pillars of running a successful breakfast
program to help you build a strong and sustainable foundation. This includes program startup, models for food preparation and serving, food procurement, creating a safe and supportive
environment, budgeting and fundraising, program evaluation and more. Participants can share
their experiences and learn creative ideas from across the country!
Nutrition:
Breakfast Club of Canada’s nutrition professionals have created a customizable nutrition workshop
consisting of interactive presentations and resources on a variety of topics to help you provide
affordable and nutritious breakfasts. Topics include: purchasing healthy food and beverages,
reading food labels, preparing healthy baking items, planning a healthy menu, budgeting, providing
culturally relevant breakfast foods, and following school nutrition guidelines and policies. Nutrition
workshops may also include food preparation, testing new recipes, and tasting delicious options
for your healthy breakfast menu.
